
Fort Douglas
Military Museum
Established in 1862, Fort Douglas has been the home for many military units. In 1975 the Fort was declared a National Historic Landmark. The Fort was closed in 1991. Today, the University of Utah is in the process of restoring over 40 historic buildings. The Museum preserves the history of the Fort and Utah’s military heritage with a research library, exhibits and educational programs. Open Tuesday through Saturday from Noon to 4 p.m.
