No Lie! No Gas!!

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – For those who are looking for a “No lie: No gas” kind of summer experience, the eight Foothill Cultural District’s entertainment and education attractions.

And guess what?  No gas is required.  All venues are accessible by TRAX or UTA bus service.  And thanks to Foothill Cultural District’s latest partner, the SALT LAKE CONNECT PASS CITY TOUR, you can leave your car at home or in the hotel parking lot.  For the price of one all-day City Tour Pass, Gray Line’s new guided tour will link together the Downtown and Foothill Cultural District attractions, where riders can “hop-on and hop-off” at their leisure to visit any of the attractions along the way.  With the pass, admission to the venues is free.

As part of its welcome to summer in Salt Lake City, the diverse and exciting venues feature a range of family-oriented activities – all designed to amaze and astound visitors of all ages.

Perhaps nowhere west of the Rocky Mountains are so many challenging and delightful pastimes offered in just a mere two and a half square miles. 
                   
FORT DOUGLAS MUSEUM:  Check website for dates: Gala Fort Douglas Founders’ Day Celebration, featuring Flag Ceremony, Motorcycle Rally, military vehicle exhibition, USO Show with Big Band Swing Music, and collaborative Buffalo Soldiers reenactment (see This is the Place Heritage Park, below). UTAH’S HOGLE ZOO:  Summer fun with growls, howls and smiles.

UTAH MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY:  Always hosting an incredible exhibit.  World class architecture and collections.  SEe VICKINGS Beyond the Legend May 27, 2017 through January 1, 2018.

THIS IS THE PLACE HERITAGE PARK:  Along with Fort Douglas, This is the Place Heritage Park celebrates the U.S. Military with music and a reenactment of historical Buffalo Soldiers battle scenes and Village Interpretations throughout the day.  

RED BUTTE GARDEN & ARBORETUM:  A world class outdoor concert series.

TRACY AVIARY:  The oldest free-standing aviary in the country.  A magical place where birds cross your place, and special species give us a glimpse of the wide world and incredible capabilities of our feathered friends.

UNIVERSITY GUEST HOUSE AND CONFERENCE CENTER:  This hotel, adjacent to historic Fort Douglas and nestled in the foothills is the prime location for accessing all of the education and entertainment venues in the Foothill Cultural District.  Check out the Guest House’s special rate to FCD visitors.
